Affordable Fixed Wheel and Swivel Wheel Jogging Strollers
Jogging Strollers have many features that make them very flexible for the avid runner that needs a sports stroller or just for every day needs. These all terrain strollers are lightweight and have many unique characteristics that the standard strollers do not have. The right stroller picked out with careful consideration can be like having 3 or 4 stroller in one.
OK, so you are trying to decide what type of stroller to purchase and there are a lot of options out there so it can get very confusing, but hopefully we can help some here.
First of all, it is recommended that your child be at least 6 months old before being in a stroller because the neck muscles are not strong enough until then, but always check with your doctor to establish the development of your child and ask for their input.
Second, it is important to know how you are going to use your stroller. If you want a good reliable stroller you might want to purchase a fixed wheel or a swivel wheel jogging stroller. I like them because they can be used almost any terrain, so I like to call them all-terrain strollers. They have models for singles or doubles so this helps a lot.
Fixed Wheel jogging strollers are excellent for those who like to run or jog because they have a fixed wheel and make it easy to do so. These types of strollers are typically referred to as running strollers or sport strollers.
Swivel Wheel jogging strollers are really nice. If you like to run and jog, buy one with a front wheel lock-out so that it can also be used as a fixed wheel jogging stroller. I like this type because it offers a lot of flexibility. Most models have zero-turn so they are really super to maneuver, so not only can you run and jog with them you can get around in the checkout aisles when shopping and doing everyday stuff.
Flexibility is the key. Make sure you consider all your options and check out all of the features so that your jogging stroller can be used for almost any situation. It is almost like having 3 or 4 strollers in one when you do your homework and purchase the model that best fits your needs. This is what makes them really affordable.
Third, the best models offer features like, front wheel lockouts, shock absorbers, hand brakes and tethers. It doesn’t cost a fortune to have all of these features and like I stated previously, flexibility is the key being able to use it for everyday use but also use it when running.
Jogging strollers can fold up really nice and do not take up a lot of room in the car or in the house when storing them. Most models have quick release wheels so that they are easy to take on and off which is really nice when putting it into the backseat. You can just pop the wheels off and fold it up and it usually takes up less room than the conventional strollers.
I have reviewed quite a few models and although there are a lot of options here, I will just mention a few to give you some ideas.
The Safari Swivel Wheel Jogger Model 11-AR181 by In Step is available in a single or a double, has 16” rear tires for getting around easily in all terrain. This is an example of a really affordable jogging stroller with many features and is modestly prices.
The Flash Fixed Wheel Jogger Model 11-AR108 made by Pacific Cycle (In Step) is similar to the above mentioned. One of its features is the bicycle style hand brake to help you stop when running.
The Turismo Swivel Wheel Jogger from Schwinn is also a very nice jogging stroller, and even has a built in MP3 speaker. It is still affordable and has many other features.
I also must mention that for the avid runner the Schwinn Joyrider Jogger Model 13-PR300 by Schwinn is a fixed wheel stroller that even has features such as a weather shield and a sun canopy.
